How We Keep Your Communication Private and Secure

At The Bitcoin Way, protecting your privacy is part of our core mission. This applies not only to Bitcoin self-custody, but also to how we communicate with you.

Below is a simple explanation of how we protect your privacy during video calls and day-to-day communication.

Secure Video Calls

For video consultations, we use Cal.com, an open-source scheduling tool, together with its built-in video platform powered by Daily.co.

All video and audio during our calls is encrypted while it is being transmitted. Modern encryption standards are used to ensure conversations cannot be read or intercepted while they are happening.

For one-on-one calls, connections are often established directly between participants. For group calls, secure routing servers are used to deliver audio and video efficiently. In both cases, encryption is always in place.

Calls Are Not Recorded or Stored

Your calls are not recorded.

Audio, video, and screen sharing are never stored unless recording is explicitly enabled. For our consultations, recording is disabled by default. Once a call ends, the conversation is not retained.

No one at The Bitcoin Way has access to stored call content because none is kept.

Secure Infrastructure

The video infrastructure we use runs on secure, globally distributed cloud systems that follow widely recognized security standards. These systems are designed to protect against unauthorized access and to keep communications reliable and private.

Minimal Technical Data Only

Like any video call system, some limited technical information is processed temporarily so calls function properly. This can include things like IP addresses and connection quality.

This information is used only to maintain call stability and security. It is not used for profiling, marketing, or tracking behavior outside of what is necessary for communication.

If you are a client of The Bitcoin Way:

Identity Verification Before Every Call

Before each call, your consultant will verify their identity using your anti-phishing words.

At the start of the call, the consultant will say your two anti-phishing words. If the words match what you have on record, the call proceeds. If they do not match, the call does not continue.

This protects you against impersonation, scam emails, and deepfake or AI-based attempts to pose as our team.

Why We Use Signal for Quick Communication

When we are not on a video call, we use Signal for short, practical communication.

Signal uses end-to-end encryption by default, meaning messages can only be read by you and the person you are communicating with. Signal does not monetize user data or store message histories on central servers.

We use Signal for:

  • Quick questions
  • Short follow-ups
  • Coordination between scheduled calls

We do not use Signal for:

  • Troubleshooting
  • Sensitive instructions that should happen live on a call

If something requires deeper discussion or verification, we always move it to a scheduled video call.

Why We Take This Approach

Bitcoin is about sovereignty, responsibility, and minimizing unnecessary trust. We apply the same principles to communication.

We prefer simple systems that work reliably and respect your privacy. By combining encrypted video calls, identity verification, and private messaging via Signal, we reduce risk while keeping communication straightforward.

If you ever have questions about how your communication with us is handled, we are always happy to explain.
